There is a $35 Workshop Registration Fee due before the first day of training. This reserves your place in the next workshop and pays for your tutor training materials. (Registration fee may be waived in special circumstances, upon request.)

Tutors commit to tutoring for one year, with the expectation that they will meet with their students for two 90-minute sessions per week. Tutors can expect to devote an additional 30-60 minutes per week for lesson preparation and some travel to tutoring sessions. In some instances, it may be possible for two volunteer tutors to divide the time commitment by working with one student as "Team Tutors."

We have many other important volunteer opportunities, such as performing reading skills assessments, providing administrative support, helping maintain our library, putting on special events, serving on the Board of Directors or a committee, and recruiting other volunteers.
